He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous (Prov 2:7)

Wisdom On Display: Wisdom Gains A Blessed Life: Proverbs 10:27-30
27) The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.
28) The hope of the righteous [shall be] gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.
29) The way of the LORD [is] strength to the upright: but destruction [shall be] to the workers of iniquity.
30) The righteous shall never be removed: but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth.

EXPOSITION:
In the following proverbs we find four ways wisdom is displayed in our lives and the blessings that accompany them…

27) The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.
1.  Wisdom is displayed by recognizing His greatness and submitting to His authority results in the blessing of longer and more productive lives on earth.
2.  Compared to those who choose to live apart from the principles of wisdom whose lives are shorter and less productive for Christ.

Wisdom’s blessings include more productive days in the service of Christ

Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I [will be] with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.  With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.   (Psalms 91:14-16)

28) The hope of the righteous [shall be] gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.
1.  Those whose lives exhibit wisdom by aligned itself with God’s Word can expect the blessing of joy and peace.
2.  Compared to those who live unwise lives whose plans and desires are destroyed permanently.

Wisdom’s blessings include the confident assurance of both joy and peace

And thou shalt be secure, because there is hope; yea, thou shalt dig [about thee, and] thou shalt take thy rest in safety.  Also thou shalt lie down, and none shall make [thee] afraid; yea, many shall make suit unto thee.  But the eyes of the wicked shall fail, and they shall not escape, and their hope [shall be as] the giving up of the ghost.   (Job 11:18-20)

29) The way of the LORD [is] strength to the upright: but destruction [shall be] to the workers of iniquity.
1.  Those who are complete in Christ, walking according to His desires, will be blessed with strength to serve.
2.  Those who work for the cause of unlawfulness and rebellion will end in ruin and vanity

Wisdom’s blessing includes strength and ability to perform the service to which they have been called.

Blessed [is] the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.  But his delight [is] in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.  And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.  The ungodly [are] not so: but [are] like the chaff which the wind driveth away.  Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.   (Psalms 1:1-6)

30) The righteous shall never be removed: but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth.
1.  Those who keep His Word will never be broken and defeated throughout eternity
2.  Those whose actions go against the Word will not receive the inheritance of God.

Wisdom’s blessing includes eternal inheritance and victory in Christ.

The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever.  They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.  But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD [shall be] as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.   (Psalms 37:18-20)
